Survived might be a bit strong as I didn't feel that deprived or bored with food options this time.
And now we are half way through the final phase.
Here's what I'm noticing... {in no particular order}
- Cherry tomatoes are very sweet
- Almonds are also sweet and savory.
- I.love.smoothies.
- We need to have more healthy snacks around and available - my favorites so far: nut mix, dried mangoes, (any type of mango in general...), dates etc.
- If I have a good snack about 3pm (apple + almond butter) then I am not 'starving' when I get home and can put something together instead of grabbing the instant boxes
- This year's detox has been really good - I haven't felt so restricted and upset about all the food I can't have (hello last year) and I'm not completely petrified about what to eat post-detox because I don't want to mess up feeling so good (hey there, first year). This year feels a lot more in balance. Getting toward the end and ready to go back to more variety and options, but also okay that we're still in the middle of Phase 3.
- Potatoes are really best with butter and ranch...
- I'm pretty sure 95% of commercials are about food {I'm craving a McDonald's chicken nugget so bad right now}
- I'm also craving Mexican food and am stoked about trying this recipe.
- I kind of loath meal planning -- any tips anyone?!? How do you decide what to have for dinner?!
