There are a ton of spider's webs around campus at the moment. (Not to mention the beefy, nickle to quarter-sized spiders that inhabit them, but I try to ignore them and just gaze at their beautiful crafty work). Webs are so delicate and beautiful, especially when it's just rained or drops of dew still linger.

Rachel and I watched a spider swiftly and delicately construct his new web and it was quite amazing. (Don't worry...all these spiders are outside)

But I was inspired.

The first tear spills, breaking the dam's stronghold
They pour faster - as I desperately try to repair the wall.
Round warm drops smear and glisten on rosy cheeks,
like subtle dew drops stick to a spider's web
betraying the spider's secret and exposing its sticky web.
So the secrets spill forth, unable to stop.
A betrayal of the heart.
