2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions and will you make more for next year?
I don't remember last years', but perhaps I did? This year my list is: 1. Drink more H2O (because I'm bad at it), 2. To feel strong and hopeful, 3. To read the Bible daily, 4. To create a budget and stick with it (and please oh please #5: find a job).
3. Did anyone close to you die?
A dear family friend, Jonathan. A beloved friend from church, Jeanette and our family kitty: Cami.
4. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yep! Beautiful baby AJ born to Jenna in June!

South Africa
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
Stability.
7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory?
March 7th: The beginning of a journey
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Making the trip to South Africa and learning more than I could imagine.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Balancing everything.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No, thank goodness
11. What was the best thing you bought?
An external hard drive - assuaging the nightmare of computer crashed during finals week my final quarter of college...
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Heidi is continually an insiration to me, her creativity, her passion, her support, and her ideas that push me to strive to be everything God wants me to be.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Um, Tiger Woods comes to mind. Don't vows mean anything anymore?
14. Where did most of your money go?
South Africa, impulse buys and groceries.
15. What did you get really really excited about?
My summer: (I was more terrified than excited about South Africa, but excited all the same), Cheyenne Frontier Days with mom, a whirlwind weekend with Brie and Bekah and my trip with Nick to Texas to see Jack and Janae. They were all lovely.
16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
The WOC '09 Soundtrack, specifically Kiss Me Through the Phone by Soulja Boy
17. Compated to this time last year are you happier or sadder?
I feel like I've taken better care of myself this year, but I'm more anxious about the future and saddened by some situations.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Cooked.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worrying and trying to please everyone, because that's a silly and exhausting distraction.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
With my family: we opened gifts, made a turkey dinner, and watched some of our newly acquired DVD's. Lots of relaxation, warmth and naps!
21. How will you be spending New Years?
With Megan and the gang.
22. Did you fall in love in 2009?
Yes, I did. World meet Nick, I love him.
23. How many one night stands?
Zero.
24. What was your favorite TV programs?
Gossip Girl, Desperate Housewives, Survivor, and Grey's Anatomy
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nope, I try not to hate people.
26. What was the best book you read?
When Bad Christians Happen to Good People, by David Burchett
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
As of today, Hotel Lights (thanks to dooce.com). Otherwise, Darius Rucker going country was pretty great!
28. What did you want and got?
A thermometer based on Galileo's design that tells you the temperature with different colored glass balls: I'm fascinated by them!
29. What was your favorite film this year?
I have a few: HP and the Half-Blood Prince, Up, Twilight: New Moon and Ice Age 3. And yes, I promise I watch more than children's movies and fantasy...

22. I attended PA training...
31. What is one thing that would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Less car problems!!!
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
Work-in-progress. I'm trying to get away from jeans and a hoodie ALL of the time...

Nick, my family and my journal.
34. What did you get that you didn't deserve?
Everything I've received is a blessing and underserved, that's the absolute beauty of it all.
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
Health Care Bill...this could be interesting.

I adore Zooey DeSchanel

My family, CO friends and Nick!
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Two people come to mind: Bri and Bethany. Bethany was definitely a saving grace in South Africa and Bri is beyond the sweetest girl I know!
39. What is a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009?
Laughter is what sustains. And as Isak Dinesen put so well: "The cure for anything is salt water - sweat, tears or the sea."
